Does it Dissolve?
Today, we put sugar, sand, salt, and baking soda each into seperate clear cups of water. The sugar and salt dissolved the best, which are the most soluable and sand did not dissolve at all, which has zero solubility. The water pulls apart the salt and sugar particles allowing them to dissolve better.

Fact and Opinion!
Today, we played a fact and opinion game from the Florida Center for Reading Research website. They rolled dice and landed on fact and opinion statements around the board. They had to read the statement and state whether it was a fact or opinion.

Atoms
We created atoms using colored marshmellows and discussed protons, neutrons in the nucleus and electrons in the electron cloud. Atoms are the smallest particle in matter.

We have been studying the four types of sentences (declarative, imparative, interrogative, and exclamatory)and created caricatures to match each sentence along with examples of each.

Human Numbers!
Today we were making human numbers up to the millions place as we studied place value. Mrs. Kassie called out a number and we had to get in the correct order to make that number.
