Angry Birds Hands-On Day!

Angry Verbs~Students created a sentence with a noun, verb, and adjective using quotations.

Students rolled dice to create a subtraction problem and also reinforcing place value.

Students create their own subtraction problem with angry bird characters.

Math Centers This Week!

Comparing Numbers to the millions place.

Creating and writing numbers to the millions place in standard, word, and expanded form.

Rolling dice to create 4-digit addition problems. (reviewing place value as well. red dice-ones place, blue dice-tens place, etc.)

Creating our own addition word problems with window markers.

Table Top Twitter


Rotated groups Solving Math Problems referring to it as "Table Top Twitter." Students were engaged and able to solve addition word problems with too much information.

Author's Purpose Activity



We were studying the three main reasons and author writes. We created a story about our candy bar using one of the purposes (persuade, inform or entertain). Our purpose had to be clearly stated with a detailed illustration and we got to enjoy our candy bar at the end!
